This is the Magicard Ultima HE4000, it’s a full-colour dye and retransfer film. Together, they’re your tools to create full-colour plastic cards.

One of them, the full-colour dye, is made up of four essential colour panels; yellow, magenta, cyan and black. The other is the retransfer film. This is a clear film that is used to print to the card.

As the Magicard Ultima is a retransfer printer, it uses a print process called retransfer printing. This works by the colour dye film printing the card design onto the clear retransfer film, this is a reverse image. That image, on the film, is then laminated onto the plastic card.

This whole process means that your plastic cards are protected against day to day abrasions and dye migration, all helping your card stay healthy.
